Solar Lanterns for Children

Challenge

In the rural villages of Sri Lanka, the scarcity of electricity and poor access to reliable power sources continue to pose challenges for families. The rising cost of living has made it even more difficult for these families to provide education for their children. By providing a simple light source, we can ensure that children are able to study, assist with household chores, and engage in income-generating activities for their families.

Solution

We have already partnered with World Vision to distribute thousands of solar lanterns, which cost only $3.50 and have a lifespan of over five years. We are delighted to receive feedback that the lanterns from our initial distribution in 2018, in the north of Sri Lanka are still in use. Your contribution will make a significant impact and enable us to continue this vital work.
